NEW EARTH IS ASCENDED EARTH...which means each LIVES AS THEIR ASCENDED ASPECTS, as pure love, as Conscious Light BEings, yet there are varying levels of this too, as this accelerates all new phases relative to various LightBody phases, as each EMBODY'S FULLY and re-aligns their whole life too..... This is not an "easy" process of re-constructing our entire reality according to all new "codes", because the more unconscious and deeply embedded/asleep we were, the more we go through to awaken and 're-do". NEW EARTH IS EXPERIENCED FROM DEEP INSIDE. IT'S OUR PURE LOVE and OUR DEEP SACRED CONNECTION, IT'S A FULLY REMEMBERED STATE where our bodies and physical realities are constantly shifting into much higher states of consciousness than before, yet the oscillation rate of these cycles INCREASE to be so "fast", that all linearity goes and we live from a fully Quantum State of Consciousness that doesn't' function like linear/dense realities did. We all gain the abilities to TUNE OUR CONSCIOUSNESS to varying levels and frequency bandwidths, which open up portals, gateways, passageways to varying dimensional realities that already exist (because all has already occurred) and we function from 'THOSE', while we "do" our every day, which is very different than the old ways, in every way. How we move through all, how we see, how we do all... becomes very simple, because the density (slowness which is relative to processing speeds/light) is very different too.... NEW EARTH IS WHERE WE LIVE INSIDE, as Photonic Light BEings, as Soul-Star-Light BEings, with photonic/plasma access and realities that are fluid, synchronized with a Cosmic Rhythm and Harmony that's always "in-tune". When it's not, we know it and we honor this, yet our capabilities are different, because of the PEACE, LOVE, HARMONY WE HOLD WITHIN.... We treat everyone with immense kindness, we truly care, we are able to maintain our own Deep Sacred Connection with all, so we never shift out of pure gratitude, appreciation and living from an abundant state, which means that we don't hold the conditioning, programming and limits of the old. We share, we support, we inspire, we uplift, we live from PURE JOY and recognize all... We see everything, without the blinders/cords/illusions of before. We see PURITY and we SEE lack.... which gives us the ability to assist/guide others who are open to accessing/achieving this within themselves fully too, yet we have no desire to take on the responsibility of others energetically saying they are not ready to do what it takes to live PURITY CONSCIOUSNESS from within themselves yet. We understand what compromise creates, we understand how we each have to choose, because in the choosing, we take responsibility and are saying WE ARE READY TOO. The responsibility we speak of is not like the old ways.... it's a very different responsibility (many argue this, yet that's ego matrixes too). Then it becomes a place we see in our sleep or waking state DREAMS.... then we start to experience it through subtle inner-actions that are silent, connected and peaceful, pure and innocent... yet then the process begins of "HOW TO LIVE THIS ALL OF THE TIME", which is where all of our parts come in.... We sleep/dream ourselves awake and anchor dreams from our "dream state" into/through our physical here. THESE COSMIC FREQUENCIES and PHOTONIC LIGHT assist with transitioning from parallel to parallel to alternate realities and clearing distorted ones.... these photonic frequencies do everything only understood as/after we go through it all... as the KNOWLEDGE FOR HOW comes through our own actual experiences here, otherwise it's just regurgitation, just like old earth realities were.... A fully SOUL ALIGNED REALITY is SIMPLE and not creating fractals/parallels to experience (learn from) anymore. When I awoke to the words "Mass Exodus", I had to go look up Exodus to see what it meant. If everyone drops the "linear" and looks at the energy/metaphor... it relates to masses exiting the "slavery of humanity" phase, which correlates to the "survival mode" where enough hearts have opened fully for more to transition through higher awareness, instead of living by the old conditioning held in place by "fear". Yes, clearing fear, judgement, lack is an immense process, because it means going deep within. We are going to see the most intense DARK NIGHT for many collectives going through their own "exit"/transition processes of resolving separation/duality within, so that their own LIGHT CAN BURST THROUGH and be their own Guiding Light too... The process of RE-CONNECTION and REMEMBERING and ONENESS occurs within each one of us as we are ready and our hearts open enough, as our walls of Armour/protection come down, as our own distortions come up for us to see/clear and as WE DO THIS OURSELVES... We can be guided, we can be assisted... along the way, yet no one can do these parts for us, we have to do them ourselves... and the human ego aspect has been convinced/convinced itself it's not able/capable/can't and "needs" something/someone else to "help". Yes, we have to open up to this, if we were so strong we wouldn't allow ourselves to be vulnerable, open and "seen", yet there's a huge difference in opening to that softness and relying on others, which is just "displacing our own POWER" again.... NEW EARTH.... all are Sovereign and not playing out lack games, not blaming others, not taking on others stuff and clearing the immense DISTORTIONS OF LOVE. OUR LOVE IS PURE.... and through this purity we will hold all to a place of Sovereignty, because we don't see the lack. We see the stories, the BS, the games that the ego plays, yet we see the beauty, the purity and the magnificence of EACH when all are LIVING AS PURE SOURCE CONSCIOUSNESS LIGHT too... A NEW EARTH EXISTENCE means that you live free from the old distortions, free from the lack, free from the programming/CONDITIONING and you live from your Quantum State too.... It means that you show up, you hold your own, you are kind and you "get it all" with your whole being and you don't bring your lack to the table, because that's all the old BS programming and illusion that we all see beyond. NEW EARTH is YOU LIVING AS A NEW EARTHER... you living as LOVE... you fulfilling your highest roles/purposes/missing, without "needing" anything... because you've cleared your own akash, because you've REMEMBERED and you are excited to share, excited to uplift, excited for all to UNITE, to create, to strengthen the NETWORK of all of us who are RECONNECTED on an ENERGETIC LEVEL with Gaia, Universally, Cosmically.... NEW EARTH IS YOUR "CREATION", it's you LIVING YOUR MAGIC AND JOY... and it's you being visible, open, honest, REAL and not making an apology for not conforming to the old lack systems of old earth anymore.... because you've TRANSCENDED THE BELIEFS, the programming, the mentalities and the ENERGY of SEPARATION from deep within you too... you are not projecting your "stuff" and you are not taking on "others" "stuff".... that was the old ways too... Museums are so ubiquitous/omnipresent in our ‘“cultural landscape that they frame our most basic assumptions about the past and about ourselves”.
A lot of people’s perceptions of history are based of what is displayed in museums. This can be dangerous as it can manipulate and focus people’s mindsets, not allowing for alternate and contradicting histories - Hiroshima vs Enola Gay.
Huge controversy over who the items may belong to - a lot of Maori taonga was confiscated and taken and is not connected to its whakapapa. These such items on display have tikanga surrounding how it should be handled etc.. te papa enforced the mana taonga principle to ensure cultural significance and history are taken into consideration when dealing with taonga. Tribal elders are also asked for advice. Other places do not have respect for the items in their possession or do not care that they are reunited with their whakapapa - what ever culture they may be from. Such as the elgin marbles of greece who are in in the possession of the British Museum where they refuse to return them - stating that they were “rescued” and that the british are keeping them still to guard against damage from the neglect, earthquakes and pollution they might face in greece. Timothy webb says that they have come to represent britain as the “inheritor of democracy from ancient athens” and in turn, justifying their “political” decisions such as “colonisation and domination of other peoples”. Greece is seeing this as a humans rights issue- sculptures were gained through illicit means (stolen) and they are being denied of their heritage.
We see museum objects as ‘unmediated anchors to the past’ - teachers often take students to museums making real of the things talked about in class.
But they’re not authentic a lot of the time, museums are about individuals making subjective choices - mission statements, architecture, exhibition display etc.. what is meant to be a neutral space is influenced by ‘subconscious’ opinions.
What does it mean for something to be ‘authentic’? “Claiming authenticity is a way for museums to deny the imperialist and patriarchal structures that have informed their institutions. They control the viewing process and suggest a tightly woven narrative of progress, an ‘authentic’ mirror of history.
Andreas Huyssen believes that museums are a mass medium, “a hybrid space somewhere between public fair and department store”. ‘They are a response to the quest for authenticity fueled by the cultural amnesia of our times; the information overload and fast pace of the digital revolution evoke a desire for stability and timelessness.
Museums are well trusted, american association of museums survey, 87% deem museums trustworthy vs 67% books and %50 tv news.
New museum theory (critical museum theory/new museology) - while workers ‘naturalise’ their policies and procedures as professional practice, the decisions made reflect underlying value systems that are encoded in institutional narratives. Its about decolonising and giving those represented control of their own cultural heritage (mana taonga principle) real cross-cultural exchange. 1960s artists began to demand a voice in determining how their works were displayed, interpreted and conserved. The civil rights movement challenged the museum to be more inclusive.
What is a museum? These categories are not mutually exclusive and overlap.
Shrine: longest standing and most traditional view of the museum is as a sacred place. Has therapeutic properties, place of sanctuary removed from the outside world.collections are fetishised, objects ‘possess’ an aura that offers spiritual enlightenment. Leads people to assign meanings to objects unrelated to their original function. Objects are prioritised over ideas. Collections are thought to be reborn in museums, where they are better guarded and more appreciated. The shrine idea is influence by church, palace and ancient temple architecture - processional pathways, staircases, dramatic lighting.. Create and performative experience. ‘All museums stage their collected and preserved relics… (museums) use theatrical effects to enhance a belief in the historicity of the objects they collect.’ - Prezoisi.
market-driven industry: museums often position themselves as being ‘pure’ and unsullied by commercialisation. Obviously people understand the items are valuable but this information is usually hush hush - would commoditise the objects. Heritage and tourism are collaborative tourism. Museums have borrowed from the theme park and cinema to create a spectacle that engages all the senses.
colonising space: often look to/reference a postcolonial (eurocentric perspective) history. Appropriate objects from non-western cultures to tell their own history. Naturalise the category of ‘primitive’. Indigenous individuals were rarely acknowledged - seen as following conventions while ‘original’ western artists were seen as groundbreaking and intellectuals. Destroys rather than preserves. UNESCO declared that repatriation is a basic human right. Mansuline gaze
Post-museum: no longer a museum. Will acknowledge the politics of representation, actively seeks to share power with the communities it serves and the source communities. Encourages diverse groups to respond in museum discourse. Curator takes responsibility for representation. Doesn’t shy away from difficult issues but exposes conflict and contradictions. Redress social inequalities. Promote social understanding. Responsibility always rests with the researcher

modern: late 18th century marks the end of elitist institution and beginning of democracy. Military practice became standard. Biology and philosophy arose. Disciplinary public museum -accessible to all. Aimed to fashion modern citizens. Art was royal, aristocratic or ecclesiastical contexts and reclaimed national patrimony and democratise and secularise the viewer. Temporary exhibitions were formed to celebrate napoleon's birthday.
(can’t change) Many believe museums still conform to this modern model. They may create new spaces and exhibitions for consumptions but at heart, remain elitist institutions. The decision making process often refrains from scrutinising their own histories. Continue to attract (more art galleries) an educated upper and middle class audience, often times remaining irrelevant to marginalised groups. They aim to generate consensus rather than conveying differing perspectives. Curators are above education department. Quantitative vs qualitative.
Are museums able to change or are they becoming obsolete?
(can change) they can because deconstructing the traditional value systems in just the beginning. Can occupy a third space, beyond elitism and consumerism. Some curators are eager to share power by initiating open dialogue and forging new partnerships with groups previously disenfranchised. There are many organisations that are taking diverse approaches to the representation of race, ethnicity, class and gender. Time of the museum as a ‘great collector’ is past. Provenance is important to consider!! Finding culturally sensitive ways to treat non-western objects. Museum is more than a material collection - a lot are still stuck with this. FORUM.
Biggest change comes with the relationship between institution and audience - should be equal. Some are supporting educational research that theorised the museum experience. Acknowledging diverse learning, lectures, performances, videos, workshops etc…

Using Python to recover SEO site traffic (Part three)
When you incorporate machine learning techniques to speed up SEO recovery, the results can be amazing.
This is the third and last installment from our series on using Python to speed SEO traffic recovery. In part one, I explained how our unique approach, that we call “winners vs losers” helps us quickly narrow down the pages losing traffic to find the main reason for the drop. In part two, we improved on our initial approach to manually group pages using regular expressions, which is very useful when you have sites with thousands or millions of pages, which is typically the case with ecommerce sites. In part three, we will learn something really exciting. We will learn to automatically group pages using machine learning.
As mentioned before, you can find the code used in part one, two and three in this Google Colab notebook.
Let’s get started.
URL matching vs content matching
When we grouped pages manually in part two, we benefited from the fact the URLs groups had clear patterns (collections, products, and the others) but it is often the case where there are no patterns in the URL. For example, Yahoo Stores’ sites use a flat URL structure with no directory paths. Our manual approach wouldn’t work in this case.
Fortunately, it is possible to group pages by their contents because most page templates have different content structures. They serve different user needs, so that needs to be the case.
How can we organize pages by their content? We can use DOM element selectors for this. We will specifically use XPaths.
For example, I can use the presence of a big product image to know the page is a product detail page. I can grab the product image address in the document (its XPath) by right-clicking on it in Chrome and choosing “Inspect,” then right-clicking to copy the XPath.
We can identify other page groups by finding page elements that are unique to them. However, note that while this would allow us to group Yahoo Store-type sites, it would still be a manual process to create the groups.
A scientist’s bottom-up approach
In order to group pages automatically, we need to use a statistical approach. In other words, we need to find patterns in the data that we can use to cluster similar pages together because they share similar statistics. This is a perfect problem for machine learning algorithms.
BloomReach, a digital experience platform vendor, shared their machine learning solution to this problem. To summarize it, they first manually selected cleaned features from the HTML tags like class IDs, CSS style sheet names, and the others. Then, they automatically grouped pages based on the presence and variability of these features. In their tests, they achieved around 90% accuracy, which is pretty good.
When you give problems like this to scientists and engineers with no domain expertise, they will generally come up with complicated, bottom-up solutions. The scientist will say, “Here is the data I have, let me try different computer science ideas I know until I find a good solution.”
One of the reasons I advocate practitioners learn programming is that you can start solving problems using your domain expertise and find shortcuts like the one I will share next.
Hamlet’s observation and a simpler solution
For most ecommerce sites, most page templates include images (and input elements), and those generally change in quantity and size.
I decided to test the quantity and size of images, and the number of input elements as my features set. We were able to achieve 97.5% accuracy in our tests. This is a much simpler and effective approach for this specific problem. All of this is possible because I didn’t start with the data I could access, but with a simpler domain-level observation.
I am not trying to say my approach is superior, as they have tested theirs in millions of pages and I’ve only tested this on a few thousand. My point is that as a practitioner you should learn this stuff so you can contribute your own expertise and creativity.
Now let’s get to the fun part and get to code some machine learning code in Python!
Collecting training data
We need training data to build a model. This training data needs to come pre-labeled with “correct” answers so that the model can learn from the correct answers and make its own predictions on unseen data.
In our case, as discussed above, we’ll use our intuition that most product pages have one or more large images on the page, and most category type pages have many smaller images on the page.
What’s more, product pages typically have more form elements than category pages (for filling in quantity, color, and more).
Unfortunately, crawling a web page for this data requires knowledge of web browser automation, and image manipulation, which are outside the scope of this post. Feel free to study this GitHub gist we put together to learn more.
Here we load the raw data already collected.
Feature engineering
Each row of the form_counts data frame above corresponds to a single URL and provides a count of both form elements, and input elements contained on that page.
Meanwhile, in the img_counts data frame, each row corresponds to a single image from a particular page. Each image has an associated file size, height, and width. Pages are more than likely to have multiple images on each page, and so there are many rows corresponding to each URL.
It is often the case that HTML documents don’t include explicit image dimensions. We are using a little trick to compensate for this. We are capturing the size of the image files, which would be proportional to the multiplication of the width and the length of the images.
We want our image counts and image file sizes to be treated as categorical features, not numerical ones. When a numerical feature, say new visitors, increases it generally implies improvement, but we don’t want bigger images to imply improvement. A common technique to do this is called one-hot encoding.
Most site pages can have an arbitrary number of images. We are going to further process our dataset by bucketing images into 50 groups. This technique is called “binning”.
Here is what our processed data set looks like.
Adding ground truth labels
As we already have correct labels from our manual regex approach, we can use them to create the correct labels to feed the model.
We also need to split our dataset randomly into a training set and a test set. This allows us to train the machine learning model on one set of data, and test it on another set that it’s never seen before. We do this to prevent our model from simply “memorizing” the training data and doing terribly on new, unseen data. You can check it out at the link given below:
Model training and grid search
Finally, the good stuff!
All the steps above, the data collection and preparation, are generally the hardest part to code. The machine learning code is generally quite simple.
We’re using the well-known Scikitlearn python library to train a number of popular models using a bunch of standard hyperparameters (settings for fine-tuning a model). Scikitlearn will run through all of them to find the best one, we simply need to feed in the X variables (our feature engineering parameters above) and the Y variables (the correct labels) to each model, and perform the .fit() function and voila!
Evaluating performance
After running the grid search, we find our winning model to be the Linear SVM (0.974) and Logistic regression (0.968) coming at a close second. Even with such high accuracy, a machine learning model will make mistakes. If it doesn’t make any mistakes, then there is definitely something wrong with the code.
In order to understand where the model performs best and worst, we will use another useful machine learning tool, the confusion matrix.
When looking at a confusion matrix, focus on the diagonal squares. The counts there are correct predictions and the counts outside are failures. In the confusion matrix above we can quickly see that the model does really well-labeling products, but terribly labeling pages that are not product or categories. Intuitively, we can assume that such pages would not have consistent image usage.

You might be thinking that this is a lot of work to just tell page groups, and you are right!
Mirko Obkircher commented in my article for part two that there is a much simpler approach, which is to have your client set up a Google Analytics data layer with the page group type. Very smart recommendation, Mirko!
I am using this example for illustration purposes. What if the issue requires a deeper exploratory investigation? If you already started the analysis using Python, your creativity and knowledge are the only limits.

Assessment #2: Reflective journaling
The Creative Technologies experience I chose to apply the “Kolb cycle” to is the very first Introduction to Creative Technologies (ICT) project I was given, a vlog. The vlog was an individual activity where I had to describe my reasons behind my decision to become a Creative Technologist.
I was encouraged to creatively explain why I chose to study at University, why Auckland University of Technology in particular, what Creative Technologies is historically and what I envision this career path to be. Emphasis was also placed on my ideas in the vlog being original, critical, informed and broad.
This activity is experientially significant as a teaching tool as it teaches students to analyse their own thinking and reasoning towards their choices, helping them define their goals and causes them to research what it takes to achieve them.
The activity helps students understand the ramifications of the choices they’ve taken. It helps them understand their predecessors in that field; and what existing expectations and paradigms are waiting in the industry.
For myself, the vlog assignment was a steep learning curve. I had never edited before and had to learn how to use new editing software. I had never filmed before, yet alone on a smart phone and I had to learn how to record my voice as its own entity for the narration. The script had to be rewritten many times to express complicated reasoning behind the vlog’s purpose and compressing the various paths in my life to my current decision to study was also difficult.
The vocal recording and editing were particularly difficult as I soon found that pacing for filming and for my narrative reading was of great importance to the flow of the overall vlog. Projection and pronunciation were also unexpected difficulties in the editing and recording process.
Arguably, my difficulties arose due to my self-imposed limit of not wanting to be shown on camera. I had to face my own issues with self esteem and my own short comings as a creator and a person in order to complete the project. In a way, it was like a strange form of therapy – I had to face my own demons around low confidence to create a competent result.
It was a good creative exercise to work around this limit, however, the earlier discussed difficulties around narration and editing were birthed completely from this limit.
In the end, I did not film enough footage to fit with my narration and thus, had to be filmed anyway. The experience taught me to allow myself to be flexible with my limits and allow myself to be vulnerable on camera. It also taught me to approach my projects with a more unbiased view, to see my creations and myself as materials to achieve the desired outcome. It was more important for the points expressed in the narration to have a physical representation of my injury, it had more impact upon the viewer seeing the repercussions than just a disembodied voice speaking about the topic.
While completing the project I learned about the technical aspects, but I struggled with the academic purpose of why this project was useful to students – why a vlog was our assignment instead of an essay, for instance. To enlighten myself, I researched vlogging and the benefits thoroughly.
In a study of veterans’ vlogging, it was postulated that a therapeutic narrative could be achieved from collective commentary given from any of the community online who have an interest in the subject matter, not just an expert’s opinion as a person would receive from professional therapy (Schuman, Lawrence and Pope, 2019).
The study reported that vloggers were more open to sharing personal information, their faces and even stigmatising conditions in contrast to text-blogs or real life interactions as further reasoning for the deep therapeutic nature of the bond between vlogger and audience. They further postulate that vloggers turned to social media (in this case, Youtube) to process feelings of alienation, grief and loss of self and relationships.
A survey stipulated that vlogs can be used in more ways than text or audioblogs, e.g. in online education, online gaming, product marketing and news reporting (Gao, Tian, Huang and Yang, 2010).
Molyneux, Gibson, Singer and O’Donnell argue that “Vloggers also view vlogs; therefore vloggers engage with videos on several levels – they are both the encoders and the decoders, both producers and members of the audience and the Youtube community”. They emphasise how vlogging is a social activity, encouraging people to view and participate in vlog creation (Molyneux, Gibson, Singer and O’Donnell, 2008).

Budget 3D printers have flooded the market in recent years. Some provide cheap alternatives to mainstream brands. Others put their own spin on the technology.
The JGMaker Artist-D falls into the second camp. It is an Independent Dual Extruder (IDEX) printer capable of large dual color prints and dual printing—simultaneously printing two models.

Launched initially on Kickstarter, the Artist D can currently be ordered directly from JGMaker for just less than $600. Be prepared for a wait though as the first backers still haven't received their units at the time of writing.
With so many underwhelming 3D printers appearing via Kickstarter these days, what does the Artist-D do to stand out?
It turns out, quite a bit.
The JGMaker Artist-D in Brief
The general frame of the Artist-D is similar to most other printers, except for the X-axis belt. Since this is an IDEX printer, two separate belts work independently, moving the direct-drive extruders along linear rails. The Z-axis features dual screws giving a claimed movement accuracy of 0.001mm.

The build area is a generous 310 x 310 x 350 mm, and the composite build plate is removable, attached to the hotbed via magnets in the base. Each extruder/nozzle combination has its own home location with wire cleaning brushes to automatically clear filament from the nozzles, which runs straight from the spools to the extruders via a runout sensor – no clogged Bowden tubes here!

The single-color backlit LCD is controlled via a rotary encoder and uses Marlin Firmware version bugfix 2.0.x. During the Kickstarter, JGMaker revealed a "pro" edition of the Artist-D featuring a color touch screen along with a few upgrades, none of which were present for this review.

What Makes IDEX Printers So Special?
Before moving on, a quick primer on the pros and cons of IDEX printing. In short, IDEX printers can give true dual-color printing, with sharp differences between the two colors and no need for the separate tower that dual extruder single nozzle printers need to avoid color blending. On the other hand, color gradient printing is not possible with IDEX printers.
While the two extruders on an IDEX printer are technically independent, this only means independence along the X-axis in most printers. This still allows for some interesting use cases, though. Dual heads can print two identical models simultaneously. If you load both filament spools with the same color, you can print models up to 111 mm wide in batches of two.
Perhaps more exciting to hobby roboticists will be the mirror function. When you are manufacturing symmetrical parts, the ability to load a single model to an SD card and receive two mirrored prints saves time at almost every step.
Artist-D Initial Setup
The setup for the Artist-D is relatively simple. It comes mostly assembled, requiring only the top arch to be attached to the base via four screws. It's a little fiddly to do alone, but even taking my time, the printer was fully assembled within half an hour.

Wiring up the Artist-D is also very easy thanks to the full-color manual and numbered cables/sockets. The flex cables are fairly robust and designed to not get in the way no matter what the printer is doing. Both extruders come with nozzles pre-fitted, but one of the Artist-D's key features is the smart system for fitting and replacing nozzles via a push-button on the side of each hot end housing.
JGMaker provides all the tools required to build and use the Artist-D, and the quality of these tools appears to be a little higher than the average. The wood-handled bed-scraper is a nice touch. The Artist-D also comes with a replacement nozzle and two full small filament rolls, more than the usual "just enough for the test print" amount you get with many other printers.

The print bed has four spring-mounted hand screws for leveling, which uses the primary extruder head nozzle as a reference point. A menu option cycles the nozzle between the center and all four corners for easy leveling – a feature of the Marlin firmware more than anything specific to this printer.
After setting up and leveling, you are ready to start your first print. Feeding in the filament is very simple, after using the Preheat PLA menu setting, feed the filament through the hole in the extruder until it comes out of the nozzle.
Test Prints and Print Modes
JGMaker provides a number of test prints as STLs, along with an Ultimaker Cura installer. The version provided with the Artist-D is a little out of date but functionally identical to recent Cura builds. After following a brief setup (as given in the user manual), you are ready to print.

The way the Artist-D approaches different types of print is quite intuitive. All single and dual-color prints work much as normal within Cura. Whether you are using a single color and extruder or merging two parts of a model and assigning to each extruder, the printer works using its Auto Park feature. This behavior is much like any other 3D printer.
For mirrored and duplicated prints, the manual instructs to simply move the print -80 mm in the X-axis and select the appropriate print type on the printer. Depending on your viewpoint, this could be seen as a good thing, a simple way to allow less computer-savvy people to use these features. Others might miss the ability to specify these things in software and communicate with the printer without relying on an SD card.

My initial test prints went well, with the "money-cat" model coming out perfectly. As with all 3D printers, there was a mixed bag here, and some problems are generic problems that anyone using a 3D printer will be familiar with. Unfortunately, there were some issues that were a little more severe, but we'll come on to those later.
JGMaker also provides a stacked block model for dual-color calibration. After an initial print, you can take manual measurements of the output and use a menu to offset the second extruder.
It seems a primitive way of calibrating something so precise, but then how else can you ensure nothing has slipped during shipping?
Familiar Problems, New Sources
Unfortunately, this is where the problems began. Single color printing worked fine, but duplication and mirror printing mostly didn't come out properly. After a lot of tweaking, it turned out that there was a fundamental height difference between the two nozzles.
This could be fixed by adding a thicker base to whatever model you wanted to duplicate, but then you need to choose between either one nozzle starting touching the build plate or one so high it might not adhere. This wouldn't be an issue if you could manually change the nozzle height, but you can't. The software offset only applies to Auto Park mode, and the clever 'quick release' nozzle system prevents precise height adjustment.
The easy to replace nozzles are a nice idea, though in practice, they are more trouble than they are worth. Early in testing the printer, I decided to swap the nozzles. The media for the Artist-D shows someone simply pressing the button and retrieving the nozzle with their fingers. In reality, it is not so simple.
Quick-Switch Nozzles: Convenience or Liability?
Removing the nozzle first requires freeing it of filament, therefore heating the hot end. You really do not want to try to remove a hot nozzle with your fingers! After clearing the filament, you can press the button and carefully remove the nozzle with pliers.

While still hot, you'll want to clean the extruder area fully, as any leftover filament can stop the nozzle seating properly. There's no tactile feedback when the nozzle is fully in - which is what caused the height discrepancy most likely.
After much testing and cleaning, and several extra nozzles, the main extruder clogged completely while in normal running.

Filament clogging problems are not unique to this printer, but in this case, it seems the cause of them is to do with the combination of directly feeding filament into the nozzle attachment. The clog pushed back from the nozzle right over the top of the hot end casing – something I've never seen happen before.
Build Plate Woes
The build plate itself is a composite material that grips prints very well and can be easily removed. It's flexible too, allowing you to bend it under prints to help loosen them. In fact, most prints ended up leaving residue on the plate, which needed scraping off with the provided scraper. This isn't necessarily a negative, though – I'd rather a too grippy build plate than too smooth.
Both the metal heated plate and the composite cover seem to be of excellent quality, so I was somewhat taken aback when I found it impossible to level the bed properly. The center of the print bed was several millimeters higher than the corners.

Warped print beds are common on cheap 3D printers, and there are various workarounds, but given the perceived quality of most other parts of this printer, it was a disappointment.
JGMaker Artist-D: Almost Great
The JGMaker Artist-D has so much potential. IDEX FDM printers with large build areas represent the best of both worlds – aesthetically pleasing multicolor prints and functional, fast part prototyping.
I don't want to be harsh on the Artist-D, there's clearly a lot of thought that has gone into this printer, and it offers a lot for less than half the cost of similarly specced printers. Unfortunately, the issues it exhibits seem to go beyond the normal quirks and headaches that all 3D printers share, into problems caused specifically by the well-meaning yet poorly implemented nozzle setup.
I'm sure workarounds will come, and this printer will eventually be good, but in its current iteration, the Artist-D is a tough printer to work with.
